| Recently, as we worked to comply with new city food safety regulations for Mosaic Street Ministry (MSM), I found myself feeling frustrated and discouraged. For years, faithful volunteers have lovingly prepared meals for our unhoused neighbors, but these new requirements changed what was possible. In my frustration I asked God: How will we continue to feed more than 100 people every Sunday? Where will we get the food? Will we even be able to afford it? As I prayed through those questions, my mind kept returning to the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand. I imagine the disciples felt something similar. They looked at the crowd, counted what little they had, and saw an impossible task. They worried about provision. But Jesus wasn’t asking them to create the miracle—He was asking them to participate in one. After Jesus blessed the five loaves and two fish, He placed the food into the disciples’ hands. Their role was simple but incredibly important: to faithfully distribute what Jesus had provided, making sure everyone had as much as they wanted. As they served, God’s provision multiplied, and as all four Gospels document — there was more than enough. I believe God has been doing something remarkably similar through Mosaic Street Ministry. Now, and miraculously, every Sunday we are being given an abundance of professionally prepared meals from generous restaurant partners. What once seemed like an impossible task has become an opportunity to witness God’s faithfulness in a new way. Now, we’re simply looking for more disciples willing to distribute His provision—warming meals and helping ensure that every one of our unhoused neighbors experiences both practical nourishment and the love of Jesus. Simply choose a Sunday that works for you, and we’ll provide everything you need. We’ll provide an MSM Meal Kit, complete with: – Ready-made ingredients – Simple reheating instructions – A temperature controlled travel bag Everything you need to prepare and deliver a hot, ready-to-serve meal to our MSM serving area. Pick up your meal kit the Sunday before your scheduled serving date (or at another arranged time), heat the meal, and return it by 8:15 AM on your selected Sunday.
