| What questions do you get asked about Christian faith? What questions do you have about Christian faith? When we read the Bible, we see God, in Jesus, both asking and answering lots of questions. Sometimes people asked questions of Jesus they wanted to know, other times they asked on behalf of a friend, as when John asked Jesus on behalf of Peter who would betray Jesus. Asking questions about God and faith, therefore, is a natural byproduct of human existence. Over the course of my ministry experience, one of my great joys has been to attempt to “give an answer for the hope that I have,” (1 Peter 3:15). So, starting this Sunday, for the next four weeks, we will be asking and trying to answer 4 big questions our culture has about Christian faith. We derived these 4 main categories from questions we get on our social media, in our church email account, and from a poll we conducted with our middle and high school students. Unsurprisingly, across all those touchpoints, there was a remarkable consensus of what was asked and a consistent set of objections to faith in Jesus. We are excited to address these 4 questions: 1. Why Should Anyone Trust the Bible? 2. Why do Good People Suffer? 3. What about Divine Judgment? 4. Why do Christians insist Jesus is the only way to God? After the third service this week, I (Morgan) will be available for a live Q and A in our overflow room at our North campus. Regardless of whether or not you can make it to the Q and A, I would strongly encourage you to bring a friend to either Mosaic North or South who may be asking these questions or others like them. I’ve found that people with questions appreciate their questions being dealt with and addressed with a respectful and thoughtful tone. We will start this Sunday, August 9. Dr. Terrance Green (UT professor by day), our lead preacher at our South campus, and I will be preaching through these together, simultaneously, at both our Austin locations. See you soon!
