Prayer
Because the primary goal of our time together is to establish relationships and learn how to walk with one another in all that God has called us to be and do, we’d like to begin by praying for one another. So, does anyone have anything you’d like us to pray for or anything to share regarding how you’ve seen God moving in your life that we can celebrate together?
Opening Question
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.– John 14:5-14

In the sermon, we were encouraged to put on imaginary glasses that can help us “look again” and see the world and God more clearly.
When you “look again” at what’s happening in your life, your community, or the world at large, what seems important for you to notice and bear witness of?
When you “look again” at the people around you, whose life is making a difference in the world? Whose life needs encouragement or support?
When others “look again” at your life, what do you hope they see?
Do Greater
What is one of your favorite miracles Jesus did in his ministry? How has that story shaped your faith?
Jesus said his followers would do greater works than he did. What will doing “greater things” require of us? What practices can help you join God’s work in the world?
Are there any opportunities to do something great in your family, workplace, school, church, or community? What would be some next steps for you to step in and help in those places?
Give Greater
What is something you are grateful for that God has given you?
What do you think people of your generation need most from God and others? How could you be more generous toward people younger than you? How could you be more generous toward people older than you?
Closing Thought
In your final time together, spend some time in prayer, thanking God for people of every generation. Ask for open eyes to see people as God does, open doors to join all God is doing in the world, and open hands to generously love and bless others as he would desire us to do.
