| Hopefully, the words “Mission 2029” aren’t new to you, but if they are, allow me a moment to bring you up to speed: Mosaic is a part of a global spiritual family called “Every Nation” (EN), committed to establishing Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, socially responsible churches and campus ministries in every nation of the world. Mission 2029 is an initiative, begun in 2024, to accelerate that vision by planting churches in 20 nations where EN does not currently have a presence by 2029. How could something so far beyond us come to pass? We (along with churches around the world) simply began praying a 3 fold prayer: we prayed for the nations, for the Holy Spirit, and for laborers in God’s “harvest field”—and if you were here on Pentecost Sunday back in May, you would have prayed along with many others. Now, thanks in large part to the leadership of Dr. Rosalynn Smith, our pastor of mission (and new elder), we have found a meaningful way to partner and participate in the Mission 2029 initiative. We have begun to financially and spiritually support a brand new church plant in Córdoba, Argentina, through future pastors Pedro & Paola Rodriguez. Currently, they serve in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, but are being sent out this weekend to launch into Argentina. Mosaic has formed a strong partnership with La Casa Church in Nashville, Tennessee, to help Pedro and Paola make the move. To bear witness to this and to help our sister church in Santa Cruz, Pastor Rosalynn and Tony Dominguez (Children’s Ministry Staff Member) are currently present in Bolivia. Here’s what has happened (so far!): – Along with 46 other people traveling in from North American EN churches, Rosalynn and Tony have been on the ground doing medical missions. – They have helped to create a medical clinic in a rural area outside of Santa Cruz, as well as do Campus Ministry at Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno (UAGRM). – After they attended a local church last Sunday morning, Pastor Rosalynn preached Sunday evening in Spanish at a Women’s Tea Party to about 40 women. – During their clinic days, Pastor Rosalynn helped host a “readers” (eye glasses) table where she saw and prayed for 200+ patients and fitted them for glasses that Mosaic (that would be you, me, and us) provided. – Tony supported and translated for a pediatrician (who came on the mission trip) and together they personally saw, spoke, and prayed for 275 of the 800 individuals who were able to receive medical care. – With the team, Tony and Pastor Rosalynn helped lead over 200 individuals to Christ this week at the medical clinic, and on high school and college campuses. They have literally seen miracles, signs and wonders this week! And, this weekend, they will be a part of the sending of the Rodriguez family to Argentina, making it EN’s first presence and plant in that nation! I love how the Apostle Paul put it, when he wrote about starting new churches: “I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase” (1 Corinthians 3:6). In other words, God uses multiple sources to help touch people’s lives with the Gospel–and this is true of this new work in Argentina. Through your prayers, your giving, and your support of Mosaic, you have helped make this new plant possible, though you might not have been present, personally.
