| Mosaic family!! We have truly started this year strong—prioritizing God, our faith, and our dependence on Him through prayer and fasting. Don’t miss the culmination of our week at our Night of Worship TONIGHT at 7pm concurrently at our Mosaic North Austin and Mosaic South Austin Campuses. My prayer is that this season not only yields answers to what you are believing and trusting God for right now, but that it becomes a lifelong practice of sowing. Seeds planted in faith today have a way of producing fruit long after we’re gone, fruit that generations after us will one day reap. As I’ve been reflecting on God’s faithfulness, I’ve also been laughing a bit at my own journey. I’ve done some silly stuff in my life. My kids love hearing stories about the goofy things daddy (and his siblings) did when we were younger—you know, before our brains were fully developed. In elementary school, I once jumped off the roof of my house with a makeshift parachute made from a plastic grocery bag…because obviously that made sense at the time. I also vividly remember trying to build a “professional” BMX ramp out of scrap wood that absolutely was not OSHA approved. In high school, a few friends and I pretended to be Disney World employees to try and get into the theme park for free. Shockingly, that plan “didn’t” work. ; ) I’ll also admit there was a season where my decision-making was heavily influenced by trying to impress a girl, which usually led to saying things I shouldn’t have said or doing things I definitely shouldn’t have done. Yet through all of the silliness, immaturity, and poor decisions, Jesus never stopped pursuing me. His pursuit was reckless in the best possible way. When I was running in the wrong direction, away from community, away from accountability, He kept showing up. When I deserved consequences, He extended grace. When I felt unworthy, He reminded me I was loved. Over and over again, God’s mercy chased me down—not because I had it all together, but because He is that good. And for that, I am so thankful. As we celebrate the close of one year and step fully into 2026, I want to extend a simple but important invitation to you: invite the teenagers in your life to register for ELEVATE WKND 2026. Whether they’re your kids, your grandkids, or the neighbor kids currently jumping off the roof (hopefully with better planning than I had), this weekend is for them. ELEVATE WKND is Mosaic’s annual discipleship weekend designed for middle and high school students to connect their faith with action, with one another, and with the very real world around them. It’s a space where seeds of faith are planted, where questions are welcomed, and where students are encouraged to encounter Jesus in a personal and meaningful way. Check out our ELEVATE WKND 2025 Recap video for a glimpse of what one might expect. We never know how God might use a single weekend to shape a life, or even generations that follow. Let’s give our teens every opportunity to experience the same grace-filled pursuit that changed us. Thank you for being part of this journey, for starting the year with faith, and for investing in what God is doing now and in the future. With gratitude, Wendell Williams Pastor of Student Ministries P.S. Mom, if you’re reading this—don’t worry. Everything turned out okay! |
