When Hope Heals What Hurt Has Broken.

Have you ever thought about how many communities your life touches in a single day?

Family, friends, coworkers, neighbors — all the places we live, work, and play.

Some are close-knit. Some are complicated. Some bring us joy. Others, pain we’d rather forget or pretend never happened.

If I’m honest, I’ve known both. I’ve felt the sting of broken trust and the weight of disappointment.

But I’ve also seen God take what was fractured and make it whole again.

Because that’s who He is: the One true God who restores what people can’t.

And Paul reminds us of this in Romans 12, that love must be genuine. Forgiveness must be practiced, not just preached.

And that hope in Jesus is what turns communities that harm into communities that heal.

Because the difference between harm and healing is simple — it’s hope in Him.

Hope that releases control.

Hope that chooses reconciliation over revenge.

Hope that believes love can still grow where trust once died.

When that hope takes root in us, our relationships with God and with one another become the fertile ground where real transformation happens.

The kind of hope that shapes us into disciples who make disciples wherever we go and whatever community we find ourselves in.

As we come together tonight, let us thank God for the gift of community, which helps heal the hurt in His hope.

Let’s also pray for His Spirit to form us into people who love, forgive, and bless the way Jesus did as we declare:

  • Thanks to God for being the perfect example of community — Father, Son, and Spirit in perfect unity.

  • Thanks to God for using communities of people to shape us and for staying close when relationships get hard and hurtful.

  • We praise You, God, for healing what’s broken and for hope that never fades to be made whole in Jesus.

  • Jesus, teach us to love genuinely, forgive freely, and stay present when it’s easier to walk away.

  • Remind those who feel alone that they belong to and are in the family of God.

  • Bring peace where there’s pain, and let every wound become a place where Jesus’ redemption grows.

Family, when our hearts are rooted in the hope of Jesus and community as He intended, hurt becomes healing, pain gives way to peace, and love starts to be like Him again.

Join us as we pray for God to turn the pain of our communities into the hope-filled beauty of His healing.

We look forward to seeing you on the call.

God Bless,
